Inscripciones al 12 Lab//Kino cerradas

Cine Colectivo convoca a realizadoras y realizadores de cine independiente, que se desempeñen en las áreas de actuación, producción, fotografía, música, maquillaje, sonido, dirección de arte, edición, animación y a toda persona interesada en coproducir, en conjunto con Cine Colectivo Guanajuato A.C., proyectos de cortometraje dentro del marco del 12 Lab//Kino, que se llevará a cabo del 9 al 17 de diciembre del 2022 en la ciudad de León, Guanajuato.

Lab//Kino es un laboratorio de producción cinematográfica internacional donde durante 9 días 70 cineastas; producen, editan y proyectan distintos cortometrajes mediante la experiencia, colaboración, y experimentación, uniéndose para  generar soluciones eficaces y eficientes en la producción cinematográfica.

12 Lab//Kino consta de tres días de talleres, una junta de producción, cinco días de rodaje (10 horas por proyecto), post producción y finalmente una gala premier. Todo esto en la ciudad de León, Guanajuato, ubicada al centro de México y conocida como la capital mundial de la piel y el calzado, la cual cuenta con diversos tipos de locaciones ideales para la producción cinematográfica.

En esta decimosegunda edición tendrás que comprometerte a participar todos los días del Laboratorio.

PERFIL DE PARTICIPACIÓN

En Lab//Kino buscamos personas que quieran pertenecer a una gran comunidad de artistas y se identifiquen con las siguientes características: 

• Ser mayor de edad.
• Apertura a colaborar en diferentes roles cinematográficos y compartir su trabajo en mínimo 3 proyectos. 
• Compromiso y profesionalismo en los acuerdos realizados entre participantes y con el comité organizador.
• Agradecimiento a todas las personas involucradas: comité organizador, participantes y patrocinadores por medio de las cortinillas en todas las versiones del corto.
• Sentido de colaboración en préstamo de equipo, props, locaciones y transporte.
• Disponibilidad de vivir la experiencia Lab//Kino POR COMPLETO desde el 9 al 17 de diciembre: Talleres, junta de producción, fiestas, brindis inaugural, rodajes, y gala premier.
• Compartir los valores de tolerancia, inclusión, sustentabilidad, respeto y colaboración.
• Si has participado en ediciones anteriores en la coproducción de un cortometraje debes haber entregado el corte final, presskit y haber cumplido con las reglas durante tu participación.

MODALIDAD PRESENCIAL
Las y los participantes trabajarán de manera colaborativa dentro de una sede ubicada en la ciudad de León, Guanajuato.  Su presencia es necesaria desde el primer día de los talleres hasta el último de la gala premiere.

REGISTRO DE PROYECTOS DE CORTOMETRAJE

CARACTERÍSTICAS DE LOS PROYECTOS

– Los proyectos a realizarse durante el 12 Lab//Kino serán cortometrajes de ficción , documental, experimental y animación.

– Se considerarán únicamente guiones originales presentados en formato profesional en extensión PDF. 

– 8 páginas de guión máximo.

– La temática es libre.

– El rodaje debe ser de máximo 10 hrs. 

– 2 actores principales como máximo.

– 3 locaciones como máximo (dentro de la ciudad de León, Gto.)

– Uso exclusivo de música original

– Solo se podrá inscribir un proyecto por persona.

– Las cortinillas oficiales del 12 Lab//Kino deberán ser incluidas en todas las versiones y proyecciones del cortometraje.

– Solo se podrá asignar 1 (UNA) Jornada de Rodaje (No divisible)

– Los proyectos se seleccionarán con base en la viabilidad de la producción, tomando en cuenta las medidas de sanidad y recomendaciones de la Secretaría de Salud ante la pandemia de covid-19.

TODOS LOS PROYECTOS FIRMARÁN UN CONTRATO DE COPRODUCCIÓN CON CINE COLECTIVO GUANAJUATO AC.

Al tratarse de una coproducción con Cine Colectivo el comité del Lab//Kino podrá proveer y asesorar en las siguientes áreas:

Proyectos presenciales en la ciudad de León:

• A cada proyecto se le asignará un gerente de producción, un gerente de locaciones y un director de casting, seleccionados por Cine Colectivo. 

*Las Locaciones deberán de ser previamente autorizadas por el comité organizador. 

• El crew deberá estar conformado ÚNICAMENTE por participantes aceptados en el 12 Lab//Kino sin excepción. 

• Algunas necesidades de equipo como sonido, cámara e iluminación. 

• Cabina de grabación para ADR, música, foleys y doblaje. 

• Aula de edición con mobiliario e internet (sin equipo de computo).

• Librería de música original con licencia para usarse en los proyectos. 

• Alojamiento para participantes foráneos (sin acompañante). 

• Alimentación para todos los participantes inscritos durante la etapa de producción (del 12 al 17 de diciembre). 

• El evento es totalmente gratuito, sin embargo, Lab//Kino y Cine Colectivo Guanajuato no absorberán ningún gasto que se pueda generar durante el rodaje.

BASES

Esta convocatoria estará abierta a partir del 2 de agosto y hasta el 2 de octubre del presente año 2022.

Para la participación presencial, será requisito:

Llenar un formulario de inscripción de participante   antes del 2 de octubre a las 23:59 (hora del centro de México) del presente año. Deberás incluir un video de 1 minuto donde menciones las razones por las cuales quieres participar en el  12 Lab//Kino. Este registro es individual y no asegura tu participación, debes esperar el mensaje de aceptación.

En caso de tener un guión de cortometraje que quieras coproducir deberás llenar un formulario de inscripción de proyecto. También deberás incluir tu guión en extensión .pdf y un pitch en video de 1 min. de duración donde nos cuentes la sinopsis de tu historia, valores de producción y cómo los vas a resolver, así como una ruta de festivales antes del 2 de octubre. Este registro es únicamente para proyectos, la persona postulante deberá llenar también su formulario de participante.

RESULTADOS

Los resultados de la convocatoria  se darán a conocer el 6 de noviembre de 2022. Los participantes serán notificados mediante WhatsApp y los proyectos seleccionados se darán a conocer en nuestras redes sociales. De ser aceptado deberás confirmar tu participación respondiendo al mensaje antes del 13 de noviembre, en caso de no tener respuesta se concederá tu lugar a otro participante.

Si tu cortometraje es producido durante el Lab//Kino deberás:

– Ceder al Cine Colectivo Guanajuato AC los derechos para exhibición en muestras especiales.

– Incluir cortinillas del Lab//Kino al comienzo y final de los cortometrajes.

– Anunciar al comité organizador y tu crew los logros de tu proyecto. 

– Incluir a Lab//Kino y Cine Colectivo Guanajuato A.C. como coproductores.

– Las personas responsables de la dirección y producción del proyecto se comprometen a firmar todos los documentos requeridos por el Comité Organizador.

– Se deberá entregar la carpeta de producción a más tardar el 1 de diciembre de 2022, la cual tiene que incluir: sinopsis corta y larga, carta de intenciones de dirección, diseño de producción y propuesta estética, para lo cual el comité del Lab//Kino ofrecerá asesorías durante toda la etapa de preproducción.

– El primer corte de los cortometrajes realizados durante la semana del Lab//Kino deberán ser entregados para su exhibición durante la Gala Premiere el día sábado 17 de diciembre a las 12:00 pm como límite. El Lab//Kino proyecta los cortometrajes tal cual son entregados y no calibra el proyector para cada cortometraje, por lo que no se hace responsable de proyecciones fuera de cuadro o muy oscuras. 

– El corte final de los cortometrajes deberá ser entregado junto con su presskit al equipo del Lab//Kino a más tardar el día 31 de marzo del 2023.

ACERCA DE CINE COLECTIVO

Este laboratorio tiene el objetivo de ofrecer una mejor experiencia a la comunidad, y los requerimientos especificados en esta convocatoria están encaminados a tener un mejor proyecto para todas las personas participantes.

Cine Colectivo Guanajuato A.C. (Cine Colectivo) es una asociación civil sin fines de lucro que se dedica a la gestión de proyectos cinematográficos en Guanajuato y otras latitudes. Lab//Kino es un proyecto de Cine Colectivo que se ha trabajado desde el 2011. Año con año un grupo de jóvenes se reúne para gestionar este laboratorio, desde el diseño de proyecto, concepto gráfico, logística, alianzas estratégicas, producción, préstamo de sedes y la proyección de clausura.

Proveemos los elementos para que 70 realizadoras y realizadores se encuentren, colaboren, compartan y vivan el cine durante una semana, sin tener otra cosa en mente.

Tenemos una filosofía de hacer “más con menos” a través de la colaboración y trabajamos para financiar los recursos a través de convocatorias gubernamentales e instituciones privadas. Todos los recursos se destinan a la realización de este evento, nada se destina a salarios u honorarios, nuestra labor es voluntaria.

12 Lab//Kino

Cine Colectivo invites independent filmmakers working in the areas of acting, production, photography, music, makeup, sound, art direction, editing, animation and anyone interested in co-producing, in conjunction with Cine Colectivo Guanajuato A.C., short film projects within the framework of Lab//Kino XI, which will take place from December 9 to 17, 2022 in the city of León, Guanajuato.

Lab//Kino is an international film production laboratory where for 9 days 70 filmmakers; who produce, edit and screen different short films through experience, collaboration, and experimentation, joining together to generate effective and efficient solutions in film production.

12 Lab//Kino consists of three days of workshops, a production meeting, five days of shooting (10 hours per project) and post production and finally a gala premiere. All this in the city of Leon, Guanajuato, located in central Mexico and known as the world capital of leather and footwear, which has several types of locations ideal for film production.

In this twelfth edition you will have to commit to participate every day of the Lab.

PARTICIPATION PROFILE

In Lab/Kino we are looking for people who want to belong to a great community of artists and identify with the following characteristics: 

Be of legal age.

Openness to collaborate in different cinematographic roles and share your work in at least 3 projects. 

Commitment and professionalism in the agreements made among participants and with the organizing committee.

Gratitude to all the people involved: organizing committee, participants and sponsors by means of the bumpers in all the versions of the short film.

Sense of collaboration in the loan of equipment, props, locations and transportation.

Availability to live the WHOLE Lab/Kino experience from December 9 to 17: Workshops, production meeting, parties, opening toast, filming, and gala premiere.

Share the values of tolerance, inclusion, sustainability, respect and collaboration.

If you have participated in previous editions in the co-production of a short film you must have delivered the final cut, presskit and have complied with the rules during your participation.

ON-SITE MODALITY

Participants will work collaboratively in a venue located in the city of León, Guanajuato.  Your presence is required from the first day of the workshops until the last day of the gala premiere.

A PARTICIPATION CONTRACT WILL BE SIGNED WITH CINE COLECTIVO GUANAJUATO TO BE PART OF THE 12 LAB//KINO.

REGISTRATION OF SHORT FILM PROJECTS

CHARACTERISTICS OF THE PROJECTS

– The projects to be carried out during the 12th Lab/Kino will be fiction, documentary, experimental and animation short films.

– Only original scripts submitted in professional format in PDF extension will be considered. 

– Maximum 8 pages of script.

– The theme is free.

– The shooting must be 10 hours maximum. 

– 2 main actors maximum.

– 3 locations maximum (within the city of León, Gto.).

– Exclusive use of original music

– Only one project per person may be submitted.

– The official 12 Lab/Kino bumpers must be included in all versions and screenings of the short film.

– Only one (1) shooting day may be assigned (not divisible).

– Projects will be selected based on the viability of the production, taking into account the health measures and recommendations of the Ministry of Health in the face of the covid-19 pandemic.

ALL PROJECTS WILL SIGN A CO-PRODUCTION CONTRACT WITH CINE COLECTIVO GUANAJUATO AC.

In the case of a co-production with Cine Colectivo, the Lab/Kino committee will be able to provide and advise in the following areas:

On-site projects in the city of León:

– Each project will be assigned a production manager, location manager and casting director, selected by Cine Colectivo. 

*Locations must be previously authorized by the organizing committee. 

– The crew must be made up ONLY of participants accepted into 12 Lab/Kino without exception. 

– Some equipment needs such as sound, camera and lighting. 

– Recording booth for ADR, music, foley, and dubbing. 

– Editing room with furniture and internet (no computer equipment).

– Library of original music licensed for use in the projects. 

– Lodging for foreign participants (unaccompanied). 

– Food for all registered participants during the production stage (December 12-17). 

– The event is completely free of charge, however, Lab//Kino and Cine Colectivo Guanajuato will not absorb any expenses that may be generated during the filming.

RULES

This call for entries will be open from August 2 until October 2, 2022.

For in-person participation, the following will be required:

Fill out a participant registration form before October 2 at 23:59 (Mexico Central Time) this year. You must include a 1 minute video where you mention the reasons why you want to participate in the 12 Lab/Kino. This registration is individual and does not guarantee your participation, you must wait for the acceptance message.

In case you have a short film script that you want to co-produce you must fill out a project registration form You must also include your script in .pdf extension and a 1 minute video pitch where you tell us the synopsis of your story, production values and how you are going to solve them, as well as a festival route before October 2nd. This registration is only for projects, the applicant must also fill out a participant form.

RESULTS

The results of the call will be announced on November 6, 2022. Participants will be notified by WhatsApp and selected projects will be announced on our social networks. If you are accepted you must confirm your participation by replying to the message before November 13, in case of no response your place will be given to another participant.

If your short film is produced during the Lab//Kino you must:

– Transfer to Cine Colectivo Guanajuato AC the rights for exhibition in special screenings.

– Include Lab//Kino bumpers at the beginning and end of the short films.

– Announce to the organizing committee and your crew the achievements of your project. 

– Include Lab//Kino and Cine Colectivo Guanajuato A.C. as co-producers.

– The persons responsible for the direction and production of the project agree to sign all the documents required by the Organizing Committee.

– The production folder must be submitted no later than December 1, 2022, which must include: short and long synopsis, letter of intent, production design and aesthetic proposal, for which the Lab/Kino committee will offer advice throughout the pre-production stage.

– The first cut of the short films made during the Lab//Kino week must be submitted for screening during the Gala Premiere on Saturday, December 17 at 12:00 pm at the latest. Lab//Kino screens the short films as they are submitted and does not calibrate the projector for each short film, so it is not responsible for out-of-frame or very dark projections. 

– The final cut of the short films must be delivered along with their presskit to the Lab//Kino team no later than March 31, 2023.

ABOUT COLLECTIVE CINEMA

This lab aims to offer a better experience to the community, and the requirements specified in this call are aimed at having a better project for all participants. 

Cine Colectivo Guanajuato A.C. (Cine Colectivo) is a non-profit civil association dedicated to the management of film projects in Guanajuato and other latitudes. Lab//Kino is a project of Cine Colectivo that has been working since 2011. Year after year a group of young people get together to manage this laboratory, from project design, graphic concept, logistics, strategic alliances, production, lending of venues and the closing screening. 

We provide the elements for 70 filmmakers to meet, collaborate, share and live the cinema for a week, without having anything else in mind. 

We have a philosophy of doing «more with less» through collaboration and we work to finance resources through governmental and private institutions. All resources are destined to the realization of this event, nothing is destined to salaries or fees, our work is voluntary.
